Biography S M Sajjad Hossain Rafin received his M.Sc. degree in Electronic Systems Engineering from Hanyang University, South Korea. During his M.Sc. study, he also worked as a research assistant at Energy Conversion Systems Lab. After his M.Sc. graduation, he started working as a full-time researcher at the Industry-University Cooperation Foundation, Hanyang University, South Korea. Apart from being an academician, he worked as an electrical engineering consultant for Reed Consulting Bangladesh Ltd., where he played a major part in two World Bank, IFC-SEDF projects. Later, he worked at APLOS Global ltd. as an Electrical Engineering Consultant and Project Manager. His major area of interest is in the emerging discipline of and electrical machine design, inverter-based resources, electric vehicle and renewable energy, and power electronics, in particular, novel AC-AC power converter, matrix converter, and DC-AC power converter topologies. Currently, he is pursuing his PhD at Energy Systems Research Laboratory, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Florida International University, Florida, USA. Before that he was working as a senior lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Northern University Bangladesh.
