Please join us in congratulating our ECE doctoral candidate, Mr. Ahmed Soliman, for winning The Outstanding Scholar Award – Graduate Scholar 2024. This award is given annually to recognize a student who has demonstrated outstanding leadership through academic achievement and research. This award includes a plaque. He was selected from among six finalists at the graduate school level. The award was presented in a nice reception and hosted by the Division of Academic and Student Affairs.

A European delegation from eight countries, including Italy, Estonia, Spain, Belgium, and Norway, recently toured the Energy Research Laboratory, facilitated by Global Ties Miami. This diverse group, consisting of policymakers, researchers, engineers, and industry insiders, engaged in discussions about the laboratory’s energy research initiatives.
The visit highlighted the importance of international collaboration in addressing energy challenges and exploring sustainable solutions. Organized by Global Ties Miami, the event underscored the organization’s role in fostering global research partnerships.
Dr. DeAngeles from Sandia National Labs visited the Smart Grid Research Laboratory at FIU. Students and Ph.D candidates explained and demonstrated the research going on in the lab and also future course of work.
