Biography | Ahmed S. Soliman (S’20, IEEE) received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Electrical Power Engineering from Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt, in 2012 and 2019, respectively. He received his second M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering, July 2023, and Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering, July 2024 from Florida International University (FIU), Miami, Fl, USA. He is serving as the IEEE Miami Section Secretary. His research interests include system and control theory, power electronics topologies & applications in sustainable energy conversion systems, and smart grid technologies. He is the author of more than 15 papers published and presented at IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications and major IEEE international conferences. Dr. Soliman is the recipient of the FIU 2024 Outstanding Graduate Scholar Award, Graduate & Professional Student Committee (GPSC) Grant in Aug. 2022 and June 2023, Miami, FL, USA, the IAS AMTGP Grant, Detroit, MI, USA, Sept. 2022 and Nashville, TN, USA, Oct. 2023, the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IES) Student & Young Professionals SYPA Paper Award, Brussels, Belgium, Oct. 2022, the First Place in the IEEE Region 3 Annual Graduate Student Paper Competition Award, Orlando, Fl, USA, March 2023, the First Place in the IEEE EEEIC conference Ph.D. Best Paper Competition Award, in Madrid, Spain, June 2023, as well as the FIU Dissertation Year Fellowship (DYF), FL, USA, Spring 2024.
