The Outstanding Doctoral Graduate is selected through a college wide competition. This award recognizes a student’s academic EXCELLENCY and EXEMPLARY SERVICE to his or her department while pursuing the doctoral degree.

Mr. Farhadi achievements were significant and he had been able to publish his excellent works in highly recognized journals in IEEE Industry Applications Society Transactions and IEEE Smart Grid Transaction. Additionally, he published thirteen papers in refereed international conferences including two papers in the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE). Not only his research and publication was impactful, but also he did an excellent job in implementing a dc microgrid with a hibrid energy storage system in the Smart Grid Test-Bed laboratory at FIU.

Mr. Farhadi has been a teaching assistant and a laboratory instructor in our department for three years and his performance had a high level of satisfaction according to the students assessment of instruction and the evaluation records illustrate his effort.

Also, He has been very active in community and professional services, including being a chapter chair of the FIU IEEE Industry Applications Society student chapter for three years and judge in IEEE Future City Competition for four times. He also served as a Vice-President of the Graduate Student Association in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, FIU.
