A generalized equivalent source model of AC electricalmachines for signature study is presented in this paper. Thevariations of geometric size and terminal voltage were studied. The method is used not only to visualize electromagnetic phenomena, but also to predict and detect field interferences. The important fact is that modeling can be undertaken within a significantly shorter time than it would be necessary for building and testing the detailed numerical via complex numerical procedures. The main purpose of this type of modeling,as EMC computational models, is to predict the response toexternal excitation generated by an EMI source. As all studied cases and their results show, the equivalent source model results accurately match the actual model results, while the equivalent model was dramatically faster. This advantage becomes very
significant in evaluating EMI for multicomponent systems.
